NAVC scholarship programs for the betterment of the global animal health profession.
Scholarship Programs from the NAVC
Learning new skills and gaining knowledge in veterinary medicine is a lifelong endeavor. And that journey often requires significant financial investment. That's why the NAVC offers scholarship opportunities. We believe anyone with a heart for animal health deserves the opportunity to learn and grow with world-class education, regardless of financial ability or geographic location.
In order to help you thrive in your career, the NAVC is committed to offering robust scholarship programs for animal health professionals. Current opportunities are available for domestic and international veterinary nurses/technicians through our Veterinary Nurse Leadership program and for international clinicians through the International Scholars opportunity. Details on each program as well as the application process are outlined below.
As a nonprofit association, the NAVC’s Mission is “To provide world-class continuing professional development for the global veterinary healthcare community.”

For International Veterinarians
Colin F. Burrows International Scholarship
The NAVC International Scholarship program is intended for veterinary professionals outside of the United States, as a means to attend the NAVC's annual educational conference, VMX, free of charge. Originally founded in 1995, to invite attendees from Cuba, Eastern Europe, South America and the Middle East, the International Scholarship program has since expanded to welcome applicants from all corners of the globe. In 2014, the NAVC partnered with the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) in the candidate selection process and in 2015, the program was renamed the “NAVC Colin F. Burrows International Scholar Program.”
