2020 NAVC PASSPORT, DAILY PRIZE AND MOBILE APP GIVEAWAY CONTEST OFFICIAL RULES
1. THE CONTEST ENTRY PERIODS
The Passport Program Contest is open between 9:00 AM EST on Sunday, January 19, 2020 and 2:00 PM EST on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 (the “Passport Program Contest Entry Period”) and is sponsored by the VMX (“Sponsor”) and Passport Program sponsors (“Passport Program Contest Exhibitors”). The Daily Prize Giveaway Contest (“Daily Prize Giveaway Contest”) is open between 9:15 AM EST on Sunday, January 19, 2020 and 9:55 AM EST on Wednesday, Wednesday, January 22, 2020, accepting contest entries each day between 9:15 – 9:55 AM EST only (the “Daily Prize Giveaway Contest Entry Period”).
2. ELIGIBILITY
Eligibility to participate in these contests is limited to those Veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Students, Veterinary Technician Students, Receptionists and Practice Managers who have paid for their VMX 2020 registration. The following are not eligible to participate in these contests: Speakers; VIPs; Moderators; NAVC Institute attendees who received complimentary registration; Exhibitors; employees of sponsors or Exhibitors, their parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, their immediate family members and persons living in the same household as said employees. Limit one (1) Passport Program Contest entry and four (4) Daily Prize Giveaway Contest entries, one (1) per day, per eligible VMX 2020 registrant as defined above.
To be eligible to win the Passport Program Contest, a registrant must visit the sponsoring booths in the Expo Hall and enter the secret passcode provided by the participating company representative into the VMX mobile app OR have his/her paper Passport stamped by all of the sponsoring booths in the Expo Hall. Each person can only win once and he/she must enter the passcodes in their mobile app game or receive stamps from all participating booths to qualify. Records will not be cleared after the daily drawings, nor will they be cleared at the end of each day. Once attendees visit and collect their passport codes or have their Passport stamped at all of the Passport locations, they are eligible for every day’s drawing until they win or the Passport Program Contest Entry Period expires.
To be eligible to win the Daily Prize Giveaway Contest, each person must visit and have his/her badge scanned at two (2) Exhibitor booths in the Expo Hall. Each registrant can only win once. Records will be cleared after the daily drawings at the end of each day. Each registrant must rescan his/her badge each day to be entered into that day’s drawing.
Records will not be cleared after the daily drawings, nor will they be cleared at the end of each day. Once attendees begin completing tasks and earning points or badges, they are eligible for every drawing until they win or the VMX 2020 Mobile App Contest Entry Period expires.
This promotion is open only to persons who are at least eighteen years old at the time of entry. Entries are limited to individuals or groups. There is ONE grand prize. If there is a winning entrant that is comprised of a team, the NAVC will assume no responsibility in determining the recipient of a prize won by a group or team. The prize will be award to the person who registered the account. Commercial enterprises and business entities are not eligible. All persons who are ineligible to participate in accordance with the Federal Communications Commission’s rules relating to the E-rate program, but are selected as prize winners, cannot win. CONTEST IS VOID IN OTHER STATES AND COUNTRIES WHERE VOIDED AND PROHIBITED BY LAW.
3. CONTEST ENTRY
To enter the Passport Program Contest, eligible registrants must download and log in to the VMX mobile app game or acquire a Passport, distributed at VMX 2020 registration desk, and obtain passcodes or stamps from all sponsoring Exhibitors’ booths (listed in the Passport section of the mobile app game) at the Expo Hall. To enter, registrants must complete their Passport badge within the mobile app OR submit their paper Passport, with all stamped and data fields complete to the VMX registration desk.
To enter the Daily Prize Giveaway Contest, eligible registrants must have their badge scanned at at least two (2) Exhibitor booths at the Expo Hall. To enter, registrants may scan their badges at any Exhibitor’s booth that has a scanner. Badges must be scanned between 9:15 – 9:55 AM on a day within the Daily Prize Giveaway Contest Entry Period to be eligible to win.
Entry into one contest does not constitute entry into another contest. Registrants must complete entry for the Passport Program Contest and Daily Prize Giveaway Contest separately to be eligible to win either contest.
Entry into one VMX contest does not constitute entry into another contest. Registrants must complete entry for the VMX Mobile App contest to be eligible to win prizes.
4. PRIZES
The Daily Prize Giveaway Contest consists of four (4) prizes and each prize will be given away each day of the Daily Prize Giveaway Contest Entry Period. The winner of the Daily Prize Giveaway will be announced each day of the Daily Prize Giveaway Contest Entry Period after the winner has been notified by email.
The Passport Program Contest consists of four (4) prizes; three (3) Prizes and one (1) Final Grand Prize. One (1) Prize will be given away on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday of the Passport Program Contest Entry Period and the Final Grand Prize will be given away on Wednesday, during the Passport Program Contest Entry Period.
One (1) winner of a prize from the Passport Program Contest will be announced once he/she is notified by email on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. One (1) winner of the Passport Program Final Grand Prize will be drawn on Wednesday after the Passport Program Contest Entry Period has expired and will notified and announced that evening at the Finale event. The Passport Program Final Grand Prize is $10,000.
5. WINNER SELECTION
During the Passport Program Contest Entry Period, Passport Program Contest prizes will be drawn in the following order:

Those prizes given away on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday comprise the Prizes. The prize given away on Wednesday is the Final Grand Prize. During the Daily Prize Giveaway Contest Entry Period, Daily Prize Giveaway Contest prizes will be drawn in the following order:

All winning entries for Passport Program Contest prizes and Daily Prize Giveaway Contest giveaways are selected by a random drawing of all eligible entries submitted for the given contest during the Passport Program Contest Entry Period and Daily Prize Giveaway Contest Entry Period, respectively. Mini Grand Prize winners and the Final Grand Prize winner will be chosen by pooling all complete Passports from the Expo Hall and drawing one (1) winner for each day. Daily Prize Giveaway Contest winners will be drawn via ITN data. One (1) Daily Prize Giveaway Contest prize will be awarded each day to one (1) contestant. Eligible entries for Passport Program Contest and Daily Prize Giveaway Contest must be received within the Passport Program Contest Entry Period and Daily Prize Giveaway Contest Entry Period, respectively. Each Passport Program Contest and each Daily Prize Giveaway Contest winner’s eligibility will be verified, and winners will be contacted via email notification of prize award, delivery and NAVC contact person information. The Final Grand Prize winner of the Passport Program Contest will be contacted by phone by a NAVC Representative on Wednesday, January 22, 2020.
At the conclusion of the Contest Period, the following prizes will be awarded to the top point earners.
6. GENERAL CONDITIONS
By entering this promotion, participants agree to be bound by these official rules. Winners that do not abide by all rules outlined in this document will forfeit their prize. The decisions of the Sponsor and its promotional agencies shall be final on all matters pertaining to this contest. Winners are responsible for sales tax on the prize(s) awarded, as well as any income taxes associated with the prize.
Entrants and prize winner(s) also agree to release sponsor and its subsidiaries, affiliates, divisions, advertising and promotion, fulfillment and/or judging agencies, related entities from any and all liability for any loss, harm, damages, costs or expenses, including without limitation property damages, personal injury and/or death arising out of participating in this promotion, or the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize and claims based on publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy and merchandise delivery; and consent to the use of their names, voices, pictures, and likenesses for advertising and promotional purposes in any medium throughout the world in perpetuity without additional compensation unless prohibited by law. Sponsor reserves the right to prohibit any entrant from participating in the promotion if, at their sole discretion, sponsor finds such entrant to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the promotion, or if such entrant repeatedly shows a disregard for, o r attempts to, circumvent these Rules, or acts: (a) in a manner the sponsor determines to be not fair or equitable; (b) with an intent to annoy, threaten or harass any other entrant the sponsor; or (c) in any other disruptive manner. Any failure by the sponsor to enforce any of these Rules shall not constitute a waiver of such Rules.
In the event that under your employer’s policies you are not permitted to accept the prizes awarded in this promotion, your entry will be deemed to be made on behalf of your employer provided your employer assumes the tax obligations associated with the prize and other relevant rules.
Except where prohibited by law, acceptance of a prize by a winner constitutes that winner’s permission to the Sponsor and Sponsor’s promotional agencies to use, publish and copyright materials containing the winner’s name, clinic name, photos and city/state, without further compensation, for publicity purposes relating to the contest. No contest entry information will be sold or exchanged to a third party. Neither Sponsor nor its promotional agencies are responsible for and cannot be held liable for (i) lost, illegible, incomplete, misdirected, damaged or late entries, error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, or delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure; theft or destruction of or unauthorized access to promotion entries or entry forms; or alteration of entries or entry forms (ii) any condition caused by events beyond the control of the Sponsor which may cause this contest to be disrupted or corrupted, (iii) any losses or damages of any kind resulting from or arising out participation in this contest or the acceptance or use of any prize awarded in connection with this contest, or (iv) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with this contest.
The NAVC is not responsible for any problems with or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment or software.
7. PASSPORT & DAILY WINNER LIST
The list of Passport Program Contest winners will be posted on navc.com/Passport and can be requested after February 28, 2020 by writing to the North American Veterinary Conference, Passport Prize Contest, 5003 SW 41st Blvd, Gainesville, FL 32608. 8. DELIVERY OF PRIZES
A certificate will be emailed to the winner, and some prizes may be emailed or available for pick-up from the NAVC Information Desk location on-site at VMX. If a prize has not been claimed by February 28, 2020, that prize will be forfeited.
These rules are subject to change at the Sponsor’s discretion without immediate notification of the public and contest participants.
