This year’s VETTY Awards® winners announced at VMX 2023
This year’s “pick of the litter” VETTY Awards® winners were revealed at the 40th Annual Veterinary Meeting & Expo, VMX 2023
ORLANDO, FL – January 17, 2023 – The winners of The VETTY Awards®, the only creative competition dedicated to recognizing marketing excellence in the animal healthcare industry, were announced this week at VMX 2023, presented by the North American Veterinary Community (NAVC).
The grand prize winners this year were:
- BEST IN SHOW (FOR-PROFIT) AWARD: “Itty Bitty Invaders” in the Television Commercial category by Zoetis and Fingerpaint Group
- BEST IN SHOW (NON-PROFIT) AWARD: “Spirit of Service New Horizon Ranch” in the Public Service Video category by Animal Health Corridor and JNA
- LARGE ANIMAL AWARD: “It’s Just Who We Are” Unconditional Campaign in the Large Animal Campaign category by Merck Animal Health – Equine and Stewart
- NAVC SPOTLIGHT AWARD: “Press Play” in the Social Media Campaign, Consumer category by Pet Paradise and 5ivecanons
- JUDGE’S AWARDS:
- “Dirty Laundry” in the Veterinary Professional Education Video category by Veterinary System Services and Veteos
- IndeVets Integrated Campaign in the Integrated Campaign B2B/Trade category by IndeVets and J2
- VCA Pride in a Box in the Direct Mail B2B/Trade category by VCA Animal Hospitals and ZED Graphic Communications
The NAVC, the world’s leading not-for-profit dedicated to supporting the global veterinary health community, introduced The VETTYs awards® competition in 2017 to recognize and reward the marketing excellence that helps fuel the rapidly growing animal health industry, which generates over $114 billion in revenue in the U.S. alone each year.
“There were so many wonderfully innovative and creative entries this year. There is a reason that the VETTY Awards remain a highlight of our annual VMX conference. Each one of the competing organizations this year demonstrated the vitality of the animal health industry,” said NAVC CEO Gene O’Neill. “These winners are truly the ‘pick of the litter’ and capture the talent and creativity across our industry in supporting the veterinary profession and promoting products and services that help animals everywhere live better, longer lives.”
This year’s competition was the “cat’s meow” with more than 260 entries - the highest number of entries since the 2018 competition. Entries consisted of advertising, public relations, digital, social, design, events, promotions, educational materials and more developed to promote animal health industry contributions designed to keep our furry, featured and scaly friends healthy and happy. Entrants included agencies and companies in pet pharmaceuticals, foods, diagnostic equipment, professional associations, advocacy groups, architectural design and more. Each entry was reviewed by a judging panel comprised of leaders in the creative marketing field.
This year’s grand prize winners demonstrated the diversity of animal healthcare and covered relevant topics to the industry today, including the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion inside clinics; the solid foundation of belonging to a veterinarian network; the unconditional commitment of one company to provide quality veterinary medicine and services to the equine community; the power of therapeutic horseback riding; an energetic view of quality pet boarding and veterinary care; an exciting and memorable look at flea control and even a humorous look at the important role of doing laundry inside a veterinary office.
The VETTY Awards® competition’s gold, silver and bronze awards were revealed to expo attendees via a large display in VMX’s exhibit hall. The top grand prize winners, including Best In Show (For-Profit), Best In Show (Nonprofit), Judges Awards, Large Animal Award, and the NAVC Spotlight winner, were announced live on-stage prior to the start of VMX’s traditional Monday concert presented by Merck Animal Health and featuring Grammy Award-winning Lady A.
