Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences, The North American Veterinary Community (NAVC), and the Veterinary Innovation Council (VIC) welcomed over 460 passionate innovators, game-changers, entrepreneurs and visionaries to the second annual Veterinary Innovation Summit April 6-8, 2018 in College Station, TX. The Veterinary Innovation Summit is a unique program and an immersive learning environment for veterinary professionals. Dedicated to sparking ingenuity, the Veterinary Innovation Summit featured over 40 crowd-sourced topics on everything from veterinary culture and telehealth to business models and implementation strategies.

At this event, veterinary and non-veterinary entrepreneurs and health professionals investigated the trends and technologies that impact the profession. Together they shared fresh perspectives on the latest technologies including the potential uses of Google Home and Amazon’s Alexa, debated controversial issues, and through the Summit’s workshops, developed a deeper understanding of relationships between startup companies and veterinary professionals.

“What an amazing event #VIS2018 is! I’m proud to be among such incredible innovators, disruptors and forward thinkers in veterinary medicine. It’s been a course-altering, life-changing few days for my company, and we are bursting at the seams with excitement.” said Cindy Barnes, DVM, CVSMT, Founder and CEO of Shepherd Software Inc.

“We are entering an incredibly exciting time for our profession. New technologies are enabling us to deepen our relationships with our clients and extend healthcare into previously inaccessible markets. The Veterinary Innovation Summit is a place for people to gather, share their enthusiasm for the future of the profession, and work on strategies for bringing that future closer. It’s an exciting event that will only continue to grow.” said Aaron Massecar, Executive Director of Veterinary Innovation Council.
