NAVC Board Member Dr, Christine Navarre Named Louisiana Veterinarian of the Year
ORLANDO, FL – MARCH 3, 2023 – The North American Veterinary Community (NAVC) and its Board of Directors are thrilled to recognize and celebrate Christine Navarre, DVM, MS, Diplomate ACVIM-LA, as Louisiana’s 2023 Veterinarian of the Year. Dr. Navarre, Extension Veterinarian of the Louisiana State University AgCenter, Louisiana Beef Quality Assurance Coordinator and Treasurer of the NAVC Board of Directors, was named Veterinarian of the Year by the Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association at its annual meeting mid-February. She has served as an NAVC Board member since 2009.

Dr. Navarre received her DVM from Louisiana State University in 1990. Following graduation, she worked in a private mixed animal practice in Sulphur Springs, TX before going to Texas A&M for a large animal internal medicine residency and master’s degree. Dr. Navarre joined the Food Animal Section at the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital where she spent 11 years providing clinical service and teaching of food animal medicine and surgery. Dr. Navarre is currently Extension Veterinarian with the Louisiana State University Agricultural Center and Louisiana Beef Quality Assurance Coordinator.
Dr. Navarre is Past President of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners and a Past President and current Treasurer of the North American Veterinary Community. She and her family raise SimAngus cattle and her extended family is involved with the beef and farming industries.
