When did you first know you wanted to be a veterinary professional?

“I have always wanted to be a veterinarian. I was probably about 5 years old when I started to talk about taking care of animals. My parents were very supportive and encouraged me to pursue my dream. Growing up, I wanted to be just like James Herriott, but after my large animal rotations at Michigan State I realized that I was better suited to small animal medicine and surgery. I‘m a country girl at heart and love to ride horses, but being allergic to hay and dust and farm calls don’t mix.”
