Position Objective
The Accounting Coordinator is involved in many activities throughout the organization including accounts payable, fixed assets, and numerous aspects of the month-end closing process. This individual will work closely with the Controller to drive process efficiencies and will have the potential for significant upward mobility.
The ideal candidate will enjoy full-cycle accounting, have the ability to work independently, possess a strong work ethic and willingness to learn and grow. The ideal candidate will also be a team player with high level of attention to detail and a positive attitude.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Perform all tasks related to the accounts payable process
- Maintain NAVC’s fixed asset schedule
- Actively participate in the month-end close process
- Prepare and record monthly transactions in the general ledger
- Assist with the Balance Sheet account reconciliation process
- Be willing to provide suggestions for process improvement to create efficiencies
- Assist in the annual financial audit preparation
- Support the Controller with projects and analysis as needed regularly
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field
- At least 1 year of working experience in an accounting position
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office and financial software applications
- Ability to exercise active listening skills and subsequently communicate solutions through in-person, phone, email, text and other mediums
- Ability to work self-directed, prioritize projects, and multitask with a sense of urgency
- Ability to consistently and accurately complete tasks and achieve results on time

Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Accounting or related field
- Accounts Payable and Financial Statement Analysis experience
- Ability to collaborate, provide feedback, and support others as a part of a team
- Ability to find quick and clever ways to overcome obstacles
- Knowledge of collaboration and communication tools: Google Drive, Slack, Zoom, etc. Interest and ability to learn new technologies with ease
Additional Position Inforrmation
- Occasional travel (approximately 5-10%), primarily between Orlando and Gainesville, FL
- All prospective employees must pass a background check
- Position is based in NAVC’s Gainesville or Orlando, FL office with the possibility to also work from home, in addition to working in the office, based on manager approval
