As a companion animal veterinarian, Dr. Douglas G. Aspros has been an owner of two general practices and the managing partner of a group-owned emergency practice in Westchester County, NY, where he remains a partner at the Pound Ridge Veterinary Center and a member of VMG-1.
He is currently a Strategic Advisor for Partnership Development at Veterinary Practice Partners (VPP).
Developing strong relationships in the wider veterinary community over his career, Dr. Aspros served as President of the New York State VMS and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) from 2012-13. He has worked on behalf of the profession in many leadership roles over the years, in education, public health, nutrition, licensure and credentialing, and is a Trustee of the AVMA-PLIT.
Doug has been a determined voice in the need for diversity and in promoting women into leadership roles in veterinary medicine, and is a board member of the Women’s Veterinary Leadership Diversity Initiative (WVLDI).
He and his wife live in Pound Ridge, NY with their Norfolk terrier, African Grey parrot and one awesome cat.
